For those about to rock...
Post carnival updates here for those of us stuck out of town or at work. -hendrix
these comentators are douche bags...they'll probably get a job for Fox covering the world series some day.
For those who can't watch. Women's A came in 2nd at 2.38.25 and SDC is in first at 2:31.17. The new buggy is called Chimera. Bonus fashion commentary: One of the women's team (I think CIA) is wearing gold lame hot shorts that are a definite fashion don't. Pika women are wearing their standard outfit you boys love so much.
I finally got the RCT feed going. These guys really are terrible. I keep telling Bean he needs to do it. That would be awesome.
Can you share your secret? It sends me to http://wms.andrew.cmu.edu/pushit02 and I get a blank page...
Yes it sends you to that site, but it should be opening the actual video in windows media player at the same time.
Ah. Didn't work in firefox, but works in ie. thanks. And I got there just in time to see PiKA B's drop test. Great timing...
Umm... did SDC just beat a course record?
They are close.... we will see.
That was fucking fast. Good for them.
The SDC hill 1 was ridiculous btw
What the hell are the pushers wearing? (guess vermont turned me G-A-Y)
Wow. Just wow. Anybody want to charter a plane?
with a terrrrrrrible 4 5 exchange that sdc hill one had everyone else by over a second.
I can't remember... Is that a new house record?
yup best time without tights!
It would've been a course record... Good lord.
was it just me, or did the sdc guy jump the gun a bit? In the very least, I felt like he had a tremendous jump
So, for someone who missed everything (WEST COAST AIGHT) can someone give me a quick rundown...
that was me being speechless...
SDC A set a course record at 2:05.6 ish, while we posted what would have been a course record at 2:06.13
To recap - SDC ripped around the course in 2.05.6. Pika pulled off a 2.06.13. The previous course record was 2.06.2. Other than that I am also speechless.
i don't think that sdc hill repeats. I'm telling you, best. start. ever.
Everyone before the last three heats was very average. SDC (yes, SDC) threw down a 2:05.6 besting the course record (206.2) Fringe tossed out a 2:07.mid-high PiKA rolled a 2:06.13 with a poor 4-5 exchange. That would have been a course record save paragraph 2 above. No one on earth saw the SDC thing coming, from what I can gather. Apparently their hill 1 is a beast. And per Ryan, our relationship with SDC is solid and the foundation is a certain relationship between chairpeople from 2000...
Before Hendrix put up the Biggest Panderer poll, I had been planning to put up a "how much longer will the current course record hold?" poll. The retrospective answer: not much.
oof types faster than me.
Ah the replay just started. So thats some crazy shit with the times.
just chimed in.... that is ridiculous. can't wait to see the replays
sdc a in like 1 minutes on the replay
Man they frickin borked that 4-5 exchange. Hope the weather holds...
how many years have we waited to break the record? thats nuts oh, and it is funny that this one of the first racedays that Decker has seen. Definitely the first sober...
BTW props to Mark and Jim for rockin the Revelation Tshirts. I spotted them after the SDC heat.
nice jinx. jim better wear his Phoenix "themed" t shirt tomorrow.
First of all, I haven't missed that many race days. I typically check the weather before going to Carnival and choose which day to go based on the likelihood of it not being rained out. And of those days that I plan to go, I pass out through less than half of them. Secondly, I'm hungover and watching buggy today, so it does sort of feel like I'm at Carnival. Except haven't eaten Tom's cooking, been to PHI, or gambled on pong.
Can someone email me the second day heats if they have them. Assuming a 9am start I could guess the times, but having the heats will make it easier to follow.
one of you can expect to have me on the phone as i won't be near a computer tomorrow mornign.
you can expect me to be passed out, even away from Carnival.
I missed it, what happened today?
I missed it to but JT sent me a picture of the board: PiKA 2:04.35 SDC 2:04.50
I'm trying to watch the replay, but I can't seem to find the link anymore for the webcast. Either they took the link down, or I've gotten considerably dumber since yesterday.
You've gotten dumber. Right where the link was they state that the replay is going to start about 12:30. But if they replay the whole thing I would check in around 1:30 - the first hour is re-rolls and exhibition.
I originally sent this as a new story, but I'll just post it here. Mark sent me this earlier. http://img.waffleimages.com/423ab614767f2c5f1b6bd...
back when the house was good, we used to lose every one in a while.
Don't know if that first link is working, but here it is again: <... www.ImageShack.us" /><...
SDC held both the men's and women's records at the same time today.
Way to catch up there. Yes it was a very good hour for them.
