The RIAA has now accused a man of making "unauthorized copies" of purchased CDs to his computer. Of course, he was also sharing some music, which is what grabbed their attention to begin with. -decker

This means that the RIAA is saying it could actually come after anyone who has ever used a CD ripping program to transfer tracks from a disc to a computer, regardless of whether or not file sharing was involved.

This is because would-be violent criminals are in alcohol-less movie theaters instead of getting liquored up. The study also shows that violent crime isn't just postponed. However, it does not refute the idea that the long-term effects of viewing violent movies is more violent behavior. I'm looking to move my DVD collection (about 40 discs) onto a media server of some sort. I don't really want the noise, space, heat issues, and power consumption of a full-on computer running in my living room with MythTV or the like, so I was looking into some of the "Slap a hard drive in/TV out" units.

Current candidates include:

The TVIX 4100

Does anyone have any experience with these types of things with regards to Video output quality/lack of? Or know of any other similar products worth looking at? Or have alternative suggestions for doing this?
